MapQuest Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

MapQuest (stylized as mapquest) is an American free online web mapping service. It was launched in 1996 as the first commercial web mapping service. MapQuest vies for market share with competitors such as Google Maps and Here.

Keha shared her distress, "One of the worst online experiences. I'm guessing MapQuest is desperate for an income, but someone has to tell the head of design they've gone way over the limit to allow visitors to the site to get to information they need. Fighting ad after ad, just gets me to X out and go elsewhere. It definitely doesn't invite me to struggle for information. Before I can book a hotel or whatever I may need, I have to understand my route, where I want to stop, what's around the hotel, etc. They have their name right it is a quest for a map with MapQuest!"

Senior Software Engineer (Current Employee) says

"Been at company for over 4 years. It is a good place to learn new skills and keep busy. Sadly it suffers from a lot of politics and turn over. Poor benefits are to blame as well now. It was a great place when I started but has been going downhill since then.Decent culture, decent pay and bonusPoor benefits, lots of politics in management, lack of focus and direction overall, high turn over"

David Stone says

"Several times I have tried to find a route in the UK from Sheffield to Suffolk and each time the page starts in the USA and amends my starting point to Sheffield Massachusetts!. Even when I move the map to show the UK it still takes me back to the USA. In desperation I amended the webpage from .com to .uk and it still directed me to Sheffield Massachusetts. I have never come across such a useless route planner."
